the Jersey Mikes on Western Ave in Albany ny is by far outstanding. We had a very large order on Saturday. It was on time. Some of the orders were incorrect. I called and explained the situation. They redid the incorrect orders. They were very accommodating. I have to say they were very busy and short handed, and to say they were bombarded is an understatement. they made everything right. I will always use this store. If you want a great sub and great service, use the one on Western Ave. thank you so much Staff Sharon Mercier Whitehall Court Senior Apartments
As far as subs from a chain go, they are at the top of the list. They use a good quality turkey and pile it on high on their perfectly soft yet crusty sub rolls. The signature "Mike's way" dressing adds a nice touch to distinguish them from the competition. Every time I have ordered from the app to pickup at lunchtime it has been waiting for me. Prices aren't cheap but on par for the size and quality you get.
I love Jersey Mike's subs, especially the chicken Chipotle. This location is typically clean, easy to park and the subs are always tasty when I order. The issue is when I online order andI get there at my pickup time, my sub hasn't even been started yet. It seems a little unorganized on the flow of making orders. So while I prefer their subs over other chains it's not usually a fast process so keep that in mind
I've been meaning to try Jersey Mike's for what seems like an eternity. Today the stars aligned, and my Covid-19 masked face stopped in to grab a steak sandwich and an Italian sub. I'm a bit of a Philly cheesesteak snob. The Philly cheesesteak is one of those foods that is super simple, yet pure genius; shaved, chopped, griddled steak mixed with gooey cheese on a soft but sturdy roll. With optionally, peppers and/or onions, and/or mushrooms. Sadly, it's amazing how so many places don't 'get it' and screw it up. Jersey Mike's gets it. Damn! That. Wuz. Gud. The Big Kahuna cheesesteak sandwich consists of (lots of) shaved, chopped and griddled to order steak, with onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapeños, and "extra" American cheese and of course, the aforementioned soft but sturdy roll. It is a thing of beauty. This snobby cheesesteak lover wholeheartedly approves. The food at chains tends to be overly salty, but my steak sandwich was not. There was plenty of lightly seasoned griddled chopped steak, and lots of American cheese evenly distributed throughout. Being a big fan of American cheese, the cheese is key; it was gooey and salty, but not overly so. The jalapeños are pickled (yes!) which adds needed acid to balance out all the fat. The mushrooms and peppers were properly and appropriately added with a light hand. The whole thing was a symphony of textures and flavors, with the steak and cheese front and center as it should be. It's not called a Philly "cheesesteak" for no reason. Big Kahuna, I love you! My Italian sub was good and an acceptable rendition of the form. I ordered it "Mike's way" which I believe means they douse it in red wine vinegar, oil, and several shakes of an oregano based herb mix. I only wished the sandwich was wetter. It was a bit dry, I wanted more vinegar and oil. If you're a fan of the Philly cheesesteak, you owe it to yourself to try Jersey Mike's version. And if you're a cheesesteak neophyte, Jersey Mike's Big Kahuna is an excellent introduction to the deliciousness that is the Philly cheesesteak sandwich.
Just great subs. Our go-to to satisfy hunger on the run. Tuna or turkey I prefer the wraps. You get more meat.
